Festivities take place at the corner of St. Clair Road and Kercheval Avenue at 5:30 p.m. The official lighting of the Christmas tree is conducted by City of Grosse Pointe Mayor Chris Boettcher at 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy holiday carols from Grosse Pointe South High's Choir. Activities include warming fires and s'mores made available by the City's Department of Parks and Recreation. Complimentary coney dogs are made available by Mike Muir and the Harvard Grill and complimentary hot chocolate is made available by the Grosse Pointe Boat Club.

The Village Tree Decorating is sponsored by the Grosse Pointe Foundation. The evening is made possible by the various sponsors and the City of Grosse Pointe Department of Parks and Recreation.

The K-Line Trolley will have a special run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16. Riders can enjoy a free -- and fun -- ride on its normal route down Kercheval Avenue, to and from Grosse Pointe Park and Grosse Pointe Farms, stopping in The Village at St. Clair Ave. and Kercheval in both directions. 

Invite your friends and neighbors to come to the The Village to kick off the holidays with a Friday evening of fun in the center of Grosse Pointe. This holiday trolley ride takes you right to the spot of the Tree Lighting and Family Jingle and Mingle. The trolley is sponsored by the Grosse Pointe Village Downtown Development Authority.
